The ruckus over Google Voice on the iPhone continues, as Google and Apple squabble over who said what to the U.S. Federal Communications Commission, and whether Apple really did ban Google's well-received VoIP app from its App Store. Apple's rejection of the Google Voice app for the iPhone went all the way to the top—the bad news was personally delivered to Google by none other than Apple's Senior VP of Worldwide Product Marketing, Phil Schiller.

Another executive with ties to both Apple and Google is leaving one company's board of directors. Arthur Levinson, former chairman of Genentech, has resigned from Google's board of directors, effective immediately, Google said Monday. A member of Google's board since 2004, Levinson has also served on Apple's board since 2000.

iPhone owners may get a taste of Microsoft on their phones shortly. According to a BusinessWeek report, Apple has been talking with Microsoft about implementing Bing as the default search option on the iPhone instead of Google.
